Tree of Life Metropolitan Community Churches are fulfilling the call of God as they set out on a bold and justified mission to transform lives, hearts and rewrite history. This mission will be fulfilled by demonstrating a movement toward justice, to show kindness and to live with an open heart.
MCC churches have acted upon recognizing the need for justice for all of God’s creatures worldwide. Those of us privileged to have a voice are called and required to use it for those who cannot act, speak or be heard on their own. We are called to act for those living in fear, poverty or neglect. MCC has set out to bridge the gap between those the Church has traditionally chosen to ignore or neglect and to help them find their faith and place in God’s Kingdom.
The Tree of Life is in Michigan and welcomes all Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and Gay-friendly people to worship with us. The MCC community is an open and welcoming environment free of judgement or discrimination. Our congregation members are free to wear and dress how they choose, as we view this as an expression of one’s self. This includes, but is not limited to: Leathermen and Leatherwomen, Cross-dressers and androgynous presentations. We view the church as a celebration of life, and of the diversity in our ever changing world. Tree of Life and the whole MCC community has set out to progress the church in a pace and way that parallels and reflects the ever changing and diversifying world we live in.
